Planned Route

In short:

Belgium – The Netherlands – Germany – Austria – Slovenia – Croatia – Bulgaria – Turkey – Georgia – Armenia – Iran – Turkmenistan – Uzbekistan – Tajikistan – Kyrgyzstan – Kazakhstan – Russia – Mongolia – Russia – Japan

As I didn’t feel like i should spend too much time on planning ahead (after day one generally everything changes anyway), I didn’t plan roads, just countries and general areas. I had to have an idea on how many days I would spend in which country for my visa’s, but apart from that, I’m pretty free. Also I calculated ‘royally’ my km’s so I wouldn’t be faced with too many surprises (like maintenance, tyres, time,..). I can easily cut hundreds of km’s out of my schedule, or add some days in a country where I enjoy staying. Only real restriction is my visa for Turkmenistan which is date-to-date and hopefully I’ll get a 5 day transit visa starting on the 27th of June and ending on the first of July.. I’ll know about that in Tehran, Iran when I try to collect it there from the embassy ( I applied, with great effort, and patience in Brussels).

Go to the ‘Where am I now’ page to track me (thanks to a GPS tracker which sends out signals of my movement).

Cheers,

A.
